ArmanexT, together with Andersen and BBVA, hosted last week in Madrid the event “The European Experience: An Opportunity for the Dominican Republic.” The gathering brought together representatives from the Dominican Republic Stock Exchange, the financial sector, and the Dominican economic ecosystem for a discussion on how European markets can become a driver of growth for companies in the region.
Europe as a Strategic Destination
The roundtable featured presentations from Antonio Fernández Hernando, President of ArmanexT, and Mirari Barrena, the firm’s Managing Director for Latin America. They were joined by Iván Ariel Carvajal Sánchez, Director of Strategic Planning at the Dominican Republic Stock Exchange, and Francisco Navarro Gancedo-Rodríguez, Legal Counsel at BBVA. Andersen was represented by Federico Belausteguigoitia de la Cruz, Partner, and Jorge Cuello Blanco-Morales, Director.
Speakers agreed that listing in Europe offers distinctive advantages for Latin American companies: access to diversified capital, solid regulatory frameworks, and greater international visibility. The role of specialized advisers such as ArmanexT is key to guiding companies through this process and ensuring their long-term success.
A Strengthened Bridge Between Latin America and Europe
The event is part of ArmanexT’s strategy to consolidate its position as a bridge between Latin America and Europe. As of September, the firm has expanded its international presence with new teams in Mexico City, São Paulo, Lima, and Miami, working in coordination with its Madrid headquarters. This network allows ArmanexT to stay close to local companies and support them in their expansion toward European markets.
The success of these connections has already been demonstrated through concrete cases. In January 2024, ArmanexT led the listing of Andino Global on Euronext Access+ Paris, making it the first Latin American company to trade on that market. This pioneering operation paves the way for companies in the region seeking to diversify their investor base and access European capital.
Commitment and Acknowledgments
ArmanexT extends its gratitude to the Delegation of the Dominican Republic and to the following contributors:
- Elianne Vílchez Abreu, Executive Vice President of the Dominican Republic Stock Exchange (BVRD)
- Iván Ariel Carvajal Sánchez, Director of Strategic Planning, Dominican Republic Stock Exchange (BVRD)
- Ernesto A. Bournigal Read, Superintendent of the Superintendency of the Securities Market of the Dominican Republic
- Omar Victoria Contreras, Managing Partner at OV
Their participation was essential to the success of the event and to strengthening collaboration opportunities between both regions.
With this gathering, ArmanexT reaffirms its commitment to fostering dialogue that strengthens the relationship between Europe and Latin America, helping companies access capital markets and contributing to sustainable economic development.
